RPTM 101: Introduction to Recreation Services
Introduction to recreation services introduced me to a world of possibilities I had never considered. The course was a gateway to the field of leisure and recreation. It helped me explore various career paths, learn about its history, and discover numerous RPTM opportunities. The guest speakers who shared their experiences with us were particularly inspiring, and many of them caught my attention, providing me with valuable insights and knowledge that motivated me to consider pursuing a career in recreation services. Overall, RPTM 101 was a great experience that opened my eyes to a field I had never imagined exploring.
HM 101: Exploring the Global Hospitality Industry
Exploring the Global Hospitality Industry is about more than just giving an overarching perspective on the hospitality industry and its opportunities. It equiped me with the knowledge and skills to navigate the industry's history and the critical issues common to most hospitality enterprises concerning current events, diversity, well-being, and ethical issues. This course exposed me to leaders in the industry, gave me insights into the characteristics that make the hospitality sector unique compared to other industries, and the functions of management, including planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and staffing, all of which will be invaluable in my future career.
